From the weirdly-matched pair of creators Riichirō Inagaki (Dr. Stone) and Ryōichi Ikegami (Crying Freeman) comes Trillion Game, an absurd shaggy dog story about two young men who set out to hoard extreme wealth for no other reason than because they can. It’s a two-cour story that started during the Autumn 2024 season, so it continues on into Winter 2025.
I wrote about the first half for Anime News Network, and its publication on December 31st marked the end of my first year writing regularly for the site. Talk about an ignominious way to celebrate such a landmark! Suffice to say, I don’t like what Trillion Game stands for, nor do I think it’s very good. While this marks the end of 2024’s ANN writing, I’ve already had a bunch of other things published in 2025, so I’ll continue to link to everything here over the next few days!
