Kisaki gets what’s coming to him.

After a couple of years writing occasional feature articles for Anime News Network, I’ve now been taken on by them to do some more regular reviews. This will include anime series, manga, light novels and audio books. I’ve submitted quite a few things already, so you can expect them to trickle out over the coming weeks. I’ll link to them here, so that there’s a complete record of all the available reviews.

First off, here’s a review of the third season of Tokyo Revengers, a show that seems to have been forgotten by anime fandom ever since it switched to Disney+/Hulu. I still enjoy watching it, despite the pretty severe narrative problems that stem from repetitive, formulaic writing. Anyway, follow the link below for my full thoughts on the show.

Bonus articles:

I’ve also been helping out with ANN’s preview guide for this new Winter 2024 season, mainly with sequels for shows the other regular preview guide writers haven’t watched. You can check out my short reviews at the links below:

Plans for the future:

I still intend to write other articles for the AniTAY blog here on Medium. ANN is mostly focused on new stuff, whereas I still like to go back and look at older anime and video games, plus I’ll still keep writing my anime postmortems and halfway-through-the-season articles because they keep me motivated to keep current on anime trends.

ANN also has someone in Japan who covers most new movie releases, so it’s likely that I’ll still write about new movies on AniTAY too. So you won’t be getting rid of me any time soon? Thanks for reading!
