T・P BON Season 1 Anime Review

Netflix continue their annoying habit of shadow-dropping every single episode of great new anime shows with minimal publicity so that no-one notices. I don’t know why they do this. It’s not like they’re even consistent with this any more. Both My Happy Marriage and Delicious in Dungeon got weekly simulcasts as God intented, and both appear to have been great successes. Less so the binge model distribution of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures Part 6: Stone Ocean. A huge proportion of Jojo’s fans don’t even seem to realise the series exists in anime form, Netflix botched its release so spectacularly.

So why revert to the hated (by seasonal anime fans) binge model for this modern update of Doraemon co-creator Fujiko F. Fujio’s fun time travel story? I don’t know anyone else who’s watched this, let alone who knows what it it. That’s a real shame. Recently, I reviewed all twelve episodes for Anime News Network, and you can read the review at the link below:

There are a further set of twelve episodes set to drop all at once again on 17th July 2024, so keep an eye out for a review of those from me closer to the time. I really hope more people get around to watching this great little show, it’s a wonderful mix of retro styling and modern animation techniques.
