At the end of last year, I joined Anime News Network (ANN) as a regular freelance contributor, after a couple of years of submitting occasional features to them. So far I’ve contributed a bunch of seasonal anime reviews, some entries to the Winter and Spring 2024 Anime Preview Guides, plus some entries for other collaborative editorial articles.
Every six months, ANN aggregates a terrifying number of new manga and light novel volumes into a seasonal guide. This seems to take a great deal of work, and previously hinged on the efforts of one or two exhausted-sounding reviewers. Lately they’ve opened the guide up to submissions from other freelancers, so I jumped at the chance to read some new, pre-published books. All of the books included in these guides are first volumes only, and the reviews are supposed to be quite short, to act as a taster.
Mostly I’m interested in SF and Fantasy, but I read a few things outside of these genres too. You can find links to each of my reviews below:

I’ll aggregate my other collaborative article contributions into a list later! Thanks for reading!
