Last season, I reviewed the excellent Mecha-Ude anime from Studio TriF weekly on Anime News Network. Subsequently, I was offered a digital review copy of Scholastic’s upcoming (April 15th, 2025) colour physical release of the manga’s first volume. You can already read the entirety of the manga on Azuki’s web reader, but only in the original black and white, and only one chapter daily with a free account, though the first four chapters are free to read at any time. The manga tells the exact same story as the anime, and you can read my review of it below.
I’ve not had much time to write on my Medium blog recently, partly due to some ongoing family health issues that have monopolised my time, but also because any writing work I’ve engaged in has been mostly for ANN. I’m hoping to have my “Thoughts on the Winter 2025 Anime Season” article for AniTAY written soon, once I find some time to write it. I’ve got a bunch of other ANN reviews awaiting publication though, so please keep an eye out for them. If you’d like to read my weekly reviews of Mecha-Ude’s anime, check out the link below!
