Sometimes Crunchyroll randomly drops movies onto its streaming service. Most often these are films related to the TV anime shows it streams, such as The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, or Kaguya-sama Love is War. Occasionally, like with this pair of films, they’re new or original properties that slink onto streaming more or less unannounced.
In what might be a new development, these two (tenuously-linked) hour-long films premiered in Japanese movie theatres on 12th April 2024, with simultaneous worldwide release on Crunchyroll.
