Despite the recent exhaustion from reviewing my way through twenty different volumes for ANN’s recent Fall Manga Guide, I still found time to review the latest two volumes of my absolute favourite currently-running manga, Jun Mayuzuki’s Kowloon Generic Romance. It’s a slow-burn sci-fi mystery that keeps its secrets close to its chest, but these latest instalments have finally started to answer some questions as to what’s really going on with this skewed version of Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City.

What’s even more exciting is that the manga is about to receive two screen adaptations next year — both in live action and animation. I adored the anime version of Mayuzuki’s After the Rain back in 2018 (in fact I just recently picked up all five of the manga omnibus volumes) so I’m very much looking forward to the anime version of Kowloon Generic Romance. You can read my review on Anime News Network via the link below.

Lately I’ve been busy reviewing my way through this year’s Scotland Loves Anime offerings, though I’ve also got some other manga and anime reviews in the pipeline. Keep an eye out for them!
