Stories that explore artificial general intelligence are Absolutely My Thing, so I had high hopes for the anime adaptation of well-regarded visual novel Atri: My Dear Moments. Unfortunately, it turned out to be disappointing in a Plastic Memories way rather than intellectually stimulating in an Orbital Children or Time of Eve way. While I enjoyed the show throughout, I felt it was full of missed opportunities and an icky, poorly-written central romance. I wrote about the show in detail for my review for Anime News Network, follow the link below to read it.

There are lots of better anime out there that explore AI-related themes more thoroughly. Try this article for some recommendations:

I’ve written a bunch of other reviews for ANN recently, so I’ll post links to them here on Medium as they’re published. Look out for some more anime reviews, as well as a metric tonne of manga reviews!
